Today I made a spontaneous trip to Smögen. I felt a pull to go there. For no logical reason, just a feeling I needed to return. And I’m so glad I did because I found myself on the rocks staring out to the most beautiful sunset. In that moment I remembered why I moved here. I wanted to be an artist, to create art inspired by this place. A dream I carried in my heart since I was a child.
Visiting this island brings back the feeling I had from childhood. A memory from my senses. On days when I feel lost or demotivated, I come here to let the sea wind wash away my worries and clear my mind. I always feel lighter after being here, like an old friend has given me a reassuring hug. Even on the darkest of days, this place will always help me gain the clarity I need to move forward. The island of light.
