This is my favourite part of the day. The animals are sleeping, day has turned to night, and the house is still. All I can hear are their faint snores and the sound of the dryer coming from the laundry room. Soon I will put a fire on. I love nothing more than the sound of a crackling fire. It’s almost like a lullaby. It always makes me feel relaxed and sleepy.
The past few days have been particularly rainy and stormy here on the west coast. It’s dark by 4pm leaving my body feeling tired and heavy. It’s a challenge to get everything I want done around the house with the shorter winter days. I trust everything important will get done. Lately, I have been allowing my body to lead the way, by sleeping in and giving myself the creative rest that I need and deserve.
Now, I will clean the piles of mess I’ve left around the house. I’ve noticed since starting my own business and pursuing my creative passions, I spend less time cleaning, especially when I’m deep in fun projects like I have been these past few days. But I’m learning very quickly that my environment impacts my creative energy if it gets too out of hand. So I will spend the next few days giving my old house some extra love. I feel it always gives me a hug in return.
Sending you lots of love and will speak to you soon!
