Meet annika

Hej! My name is Annika. I’m an artist, filmmaker, and storyteller living on Sweden’s wild and beautiful West Coast. My home faces the North Sea, where the waters carry the stories of my Swedish and English ancestry. Across these tides, I feel the pull of memory, heritage, and timeless love. This is my story of coming home. Home to the heart, to nature, and to the art of simply being alive.

As a child, I spent my summers on the island of Smögen with my Dad, and in Northumberland, England with my Mum. Two of my heritages connected by the North Sea. Returning to Sweden feels like stepping back into a story I began long ago. Among these shifting tides, I’m embracing the creative life that has always called me home.

I moved to Sweden to live more simply, closer to the land, with less hustle and chaos and more nature and calm. I’ve always wanted to feel self-sufficient, independent, and free. I’ve discovered that nature has a quiet and gentle way of bringing us back to what truly matters in life. And back to ourselves. Moments in nature teach me to slow down, breathe, and live more fully in the present moment.

Online, I share moments of quiet presence in nature, my creative work inspired by this coastal landscape, and my daily life living by the sea.

I’m passionate about storytelling, art, and reconnecting with the natural world. Through cinematic films, photography, painting, and writing, I hope to share the beauty and wonder of this place, and inspire you to find your own connection to nature, creativity, and heritage. And to yourself.
